Thank you everyone for your feedback.
----------------------------------------Scribe, thanks for the suggestion to look at Free-DC. This is a great site for tracking stats and is one that I already use. I just thought the WCG site could benefit from implementing some of the same metrics so crunchers would have quicker access to their own information and that of others without having to check additional websites. This could be especially helpful to those who are new to WCG or DC in general. jonnieb-uk, 28-day average sounds good to me. Thanks for the input. |

As someone who spends a lot of time capturing individual and team stats I fully endorse ravenigma OP. As noted in the OP the Averages presently available are of limited interest. One minor amendment. It would be better if (Last 30 Days) was (Last 28 Days) Many members using work/office computers to crunch only have access to them 5 out of 7 days and a 28 day average would better reflect this. Nice suggestion! Also note, if u use company computers: 1. BOINC app has to be "listed as safe or IT has to approve it"...in SIEMENS corp BOINC is safe & authorized, so I do use it! 2. for security reasons, only give access to network (internet) from 6AM to 6PM... 3. it would be nice to schedule an automatic shutdown...that is what I do, so my computer always shuts down! Leaving the work I always "lock my computer" (it's easy with SHIFT + L) for security reasons...also, always use "lock my computer when screen saver starts"... 4. also check the download/upload of the WU...I wouldn't sugest crunching the CEP/CEP2 jobs on work computer...way too much data for a WU download/upload! |
