Re: problems with unexpected long runtimes / no end(?)

We are investigating to see if we need to modify the checkpointing code to take more frequent checkpoints or if this will be a temporary issue with only a small number of batches.
If it is reasonably feasible that would be a wise move, even when tasks are shorter than currently.

Statistically most WUs have 3 or 2 jobs, therefore only 2 or 1 checkpoint(s) per WU.
I have even seen a few with only one job but this is rather exceptional.

Re: problems with unexpected long runtimes / no end(?)

Sgt. Joe, your issue is unrelated to this. Have you tried the latest client available for download?

I think the problem is marginally related based on the behavior. As mentioned previously I think I have resolved most of the issues related to this behavior which has occurred with autodock units and now with MCM1, but never with the VINA units. I believe it was mostly (mainly) related to communication issue with internet connectivity. So I am a little surprised it has cropped up again, although very sparingly. However, I will upgrade to the latest version for Linux and see if that finally puts this behavior to its final resting place. Thanks for the suggestion.
Cheers

Re: problems with unexpected long runtimes / no end(?)

We are making changes to the FAAH Vina workunits which should help significantly with the time between checkpoints. Once we have data back on how these changes have impacted things we will reevaluate whether or not we need to increase the checkpointing for FAAH Vina.

Thanks,
armstrdj
