Your dual core Pentium(R) D CPU 2.80GHz processor is probably mounted on a socket 775 motherboard. That type of motherboard is also suited for a variety of quad core processors. Easy to find secondhand and cheap biggrin

Be sure to check the motherboard specs before taking this advice. Their were a ton of 775 boards that did NOT support quad core CPU's. I know because I was shopping for a replacement board a year ago and my options were limited depending on board options etc...
