Re: MCM Progress Reports - August 30 Update

The following figures are based on a total number of work units of 350,000,000 from cubes.

Last 30 day average results: 480,003
Estimated end date using 30 day average: October 10, 2015
Percent Complete: 94.14244%
The average length of a WU is currently running about 4.08 hours.

If I look at the latest batch I have received, 16459, that would be about 94.05% complete.

We are at about 1.42 more months (approx.42 Days)of additional crunching at the current recent run rate. The days in the past week showed variable work unit time from 4.08 to 4.26 hours per WU. The projected completion date has come one day closer than last week. Production was up maginally this past week with about 3.57 million WU's completed this week. Good crunching everyone. Crunch on.

Update:As of the completions posted For August 31, we are down to our last 20 million work units.

Cheers

Re: MCM Progress Reports - August 30 Update

Oh dear - only just found this, and didn't realise the project was ending so soon sad Just got my 10 years badge, but was hoping to continue this one for the long term. Hoping for another good interesting project to start soon, or MCM to be continued. I read their recent update, but it wasn't clear to me whether (and if so, when) there will be future phases of MCM.

Re: MCM Progress Reports - August 30 Update

From the updates and the direction of finding answers to multiple cancers, concluded that the specific 3 additional targets are no longer on the board i.e. everything is FTM derived off the Lung Cancer target gained knowledge.

Sekerob, could you elaborate on that?

What are you concluding and what's your source?

The science is more important than a badge. The quicker the results are in the hands of the scientists, the quicker a cure can potentially be found. So maybe everyone should stay on the project to expedite its ending.

The scientists post int he forum, so his source is the forum and the scientists. They did state that there were four cancers they were targeting and that there were 17,500 total sets (each set has 10,000 WU's in it.) Later on they stated they were still on the lung cancer portion and that previous results were being used to drive future sets for lung cancer. They didn't expect the number of sets to actually change; so still 17,500.

So, in conclusion, you can't keep the total number sets the same, but expand lung cancer while keeping the other three in the project. If they decide to do the other three in the future is not known.

Feel free to read the forums and the posts from the scientists.

maybe...but they have a lot of thing 2 compute be4 it ends (2nd screening)...

so finishing a project quicker...OK, I'm up 2 it - but only if a scientist of a project comes & asks us 2 wrap thing up sooner than later!
cool

also, we're contributing on WCG...just on other projects which also needs help! wink
