Re: Reducing Deadline for Mapping Cancer Markers Tasks to 7 Days

Hello Speedy,

could you please clarify your question a bit?

Yes I can most certainly explain my question in better detail.

What I meant to say was how are the results sent back to the researchers? Here's an example. Are they sent back over the Internet or on our external hard drive

Hello Speedy,

as far as I know they are being sent over the Internet, but I can't be 100% sure as far as I'm not WCG employee.

Hello Speedy,

as far as I know they are being sent over the Internet, but I can't be 100% sure as far as I'm not WCG employee.

Thank you for your response. I thought the information was probably transferred back to the researchers in this way. There are 2 things I would be interested in knowing. Firstly how big are the batches that are sent back at a time and secondly what speed is the data transferred at?

All of the result data is backed up to HDD by the WCG staff and also sent back to the researchers over an ssh connection. The size per batch of results varies from project to project and in some cases from batch to batch. Typical sizes are a couple hundred MB up to a couple of GB but there are exceptions. Transfer speeds vary depending on the connection at the researchers.

Thanks,
armstrdj
