Was mulling, how reliable is having Enterprise files on a cloud and them being shuffled around without any control even across continents [The privacy issue very high on the agenda, where they are determines who may 'legally' snoop on them]? This checksum issue just keeps coming back more often than the 4 seasons. Yes we know, uptime beyond 99.5% is costly, and this not being a mission critical endeavor [some will differ on the urgency], but how do the fixed files get corrupt or corrupt checksums is rather beyond me.

The use of Smart Cloud Enterprise and Apache as a reverse proxy cache was a alternative to using a content delivery network. With the acquisition of SoftLayer, IBM now owns a CDN and we are working to gain access to use it for the distribution of these files. This will be a much better solution and should eliminate the overloading of the servers that sometimes results in the flawed caching that is the root of these issues.
