Re: Performance compared to PC?

Is your device overheating?

You can reduce the number of Cores used for WCG. This has helped some crunchers. Sometimes, using only 2 out of 4 Cores will result in almost no error. Experiment with the number of Cores and see what value is the one that generates the least number of errors and stick with it.

Re: Performance compared to PC?

Yes, you asked a question, but it has nothing to do with this thread's topic. smile

The problem is most likely not your android device, the issue is the instability of the science application generating lots and lots of 195 signal 9 errors, if failing. A beta test, discussed in the beta forums, is underway now for a new android release of fahv science app. Sofar no 195 errors reported, but instead lots of 193 SIGSEGV. The technicians said they made big changes, ergo were anticipating something would break in this test.

Petre

By Core, I mean that in the BIONIC App -> Preferences* -> Used CPU Cores
* Make sure that "Show advanced preferences and controls..." is selected (ticked) so you can view those hidden settings.

BTW, lavaflow is also correct that some causes of these errors will be resolved by a software update. However, you can still try reducing the number of CPU Cores if you want to.

Maybe, those posts which aren't on-topic could be split into a new thread.

Re: Performance compared to PC?

Hi,

I installed BOINC agent on my ASUS tablet with android 4.0 as SO since April 13. So far it generates 25,719 points and get 87 results returned. I still don't know if this is a good performance for my android device. But it generates 20 pages x 14 records within 2 days only (Apr/18 and April 19) a lot of Errors and two positions 'In Progress'. I don't know if this its status will be resolved later on in anyway.
How can I avoid or resolve these errors?
Can they be solved anyway?

Thank you for help

pettud

Re: Performance compared to PC?

pettud,

the problem isn't your tablet but rather the application itself. The techs are working on solving these errors.
