Study expands cancer genomics universe
By analyzing the genomes of thousands of patients' tumors, a research team has discovered many new cancer genes -- expanding the list of known genes tied to these cancers by 25 percent. The team's work, which lays a critical foundation for future cancer drug development, also shows that creating a comprehensive catalog of cancer genes for scores of cancer types is feasible with as few as 100,000 patient samples.
The effectiveness of a preventive therapy on the other breast "Moderate doses of radiation on the unaffected breast can prevent a recurrence of breast cancer, eradicating precancerous cells, suggests this study from Columbia University. Prophylactic irradiation "of the other breast" is confirmed as a promising, with the research presented in the January 20 edition of the journal PLoS ONE, whereas patient 6, a survivor of breast cancer development breast cancer in the other breast." http://www.plosone.org/article/comments/info%...1CC5CF178E6F1FA5EC52B131A French Article http://www.santelog.com/news/cancerologie/can...relasuite.htm#lirelasuite |

Cette recherche, publiée dans la revue PLoS One, constate que la mélatonine inhibe la production de cellules et bloque la formation de nouveaux vaisseaux sanguins, sur un modèle animal de cancer du sein triple négatif." http://www.santelog.com/news/cancerologie/can...relasuite.htm#lirelasuite BREAST CANCER : Melatonin also asleep tumor growth "Melatonin, or "sleep hormone" would also have the potential to lull the growth of some breast cancers shows this experimental study, conducted by researchers at Henry Ford Hospital (Detroit). This research, published in the journal PLoS One, found that melatonin inhibits the production of cells and blocks the formation of new blood vessels in an animal model of triple-negative breast cancer." http://www.plosone.org/article/info%3Adoi%2F10.1371%2Fjournal.pone.0085311 French Article http://www.santelog.com/news/cancerologie/can...relasuite.htm#lirelasuite |

Des résultats, présentés dans le Journal of the American College of Cardiology, qui suggèrent l'existence de facteurs de risque sous-jacents à la fois d'insuffisance cardiaque et de cancer, comme la maladie pulmonaire obstructive chronique peut l’être, pour l’insuffisance cardiaque et le cancer du poumon." http://www.santelog.com/news/cancerologie/l-i...relasuite.htm#lirelasuite HEART FAILURE associated with an increased risk of cancer "These american researchers found that in the years following the diagnosis of heart failure, patients have an increased 68% risk of developing cancer, and these patients have developed cancer-logically-a higher risk of death premature. Results presented in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, which suggest the existence of risk factors underlying both heart failure and cancer, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease can be, for heart failure and lung cancer." http://content.onlinejacc.org/article.aspx?articleid=1709458&resultClick=3 French Article http://www.santelog.com/news/cancerologie/l-i...relasuite.htm#lirelasuite |
