I'm having issues with these workunits. I'm a long time cruncher and forum lurker but unfortunately not great with super technical stuff. Never had this issue before, but every MCM unit appears to be erroring out on one of my computers. Here's a log. Let me know if I can post anything else that would help troubleshoot! :)

I had only run a handful of MCM tasks so far, but from my observations of the last Beta round, they will complete if the CPU time counter (not the elapsed time) increments. It can take a very long time though, without any checkpoints or visible changes in the progress bar. I wonder if it's just a problem with preliminary estimating the computation effort or some fishy loop in the code. I wouldn't abort them in this case, this would just throw away your computation time and replicate it to another client.

Rob, the one I had just now was not just running forever, it had stopped incrementing CPU time. With 11+ hours elapsed and 4 run, it's pretty certain the horse was dead.

My take is that if the task shows 100% complete and is still running after 19 hours without checkpointing than the task is faulty and I don't see any benefit to letting it continue to run and waste valuable time and resources. JMHO
