Re: Mapping Cancer Markers - Problems Thread

I am very suspisious that the WUs are running far longer than is being reported, perhaps as much a 10 times longer. It is hard to be sure since the start time is not logged in stderr.txt. I've got some jobs that I think ran for over 48 hours, but have only logged a few. Is the CPU time being truncated? I've got 8 cores running 24x7, but I am not seeing 8 days of work beeing reported.

Your run time will only be as good as the wingmen you have returning results. I have very few days of of run time equaling cores running per day. It should work itself out over time. FWIW I have 17 pages of PV ATM.

You are right about that, but eventually the number of WUs entrying PV should equal those that are coming out. As you say, it will work out over time, but this is longer than the 10 day deadline. The performance of the next 2 days after these are poor as well.

I haven't studied this aspect for previous projects, but then previous projects haven't raised my suspicions so much.

Re: Mapping Cancer Markers - Problems Thread

I have 9 machines on WCG 24x7, When MCM started my points, work units completed and Run time all went down. When project was paused points, work units completed and Run Time went back up. When MCM started back up same thing, all stats went down. Why Run Time? No changes here on the time the PCs are running.

---------------------------

Last 24 hours have seen 12 Invalids spread across 3 machines, all Windows 64. None on Linux 64.

[Just] means to me there was no achievable quorum after 5 copies max circulation, then converted to Too Late flat in prep to grant them each what was claimed by the individual result machine. Maybe you can extract the result.out values from the 5 logs. I'd be surprised if any is the same.

(If only we'd have had that OS/CPU info in the logs or on the quorum detail pages to extend the DIY comparisons... is it a HR issue?)

Re: Mapping Cancer Markers - Problems Thread

Follow up from my last post. All four WUs completed. They took from 15 to 24 hours to complete. The estimate when they started was 6 3/4 hours.

The previous four WUs on the same machine took from 6 to 7 hours.

In short, don't panic. The estimated time to completion is a wild guess only. I expect it to get better.

OK, here they are, in order:
Result.out = 3796667.000000
Result.out = 3796983.000000
Result.out = 3797601.000000
Result.out = 3797495.000000
Result.out = 3797798.000000
Your assumption has proven to be correct. I have a feeling they will remain nothing granted. (No big deal for me, research is important - points are not.) Just curious as to why this designation.
Cheers
