WCG Falling asleep ?

Only three projects left running, SN2S looks erratic, the two others will comme to an end one of these days, is there again anything to crunch in a close future with WCG ?
Could anyone advise me about another network of shared computation, on medical or biological researches, another network active, not going to sleep ?
If there is no work, no active projects, no more choice, I could be giving up crunching, sorry...

Look in the BOINC 'Add project menu' - Malaria x2, Poem, Rosetta, all do medical type crunching. have a look at what interests you...

Also the current projects running here in WCG are good for a while yet!

Keep on crunching...

Re: WCG Falling asleep ?

There is also folding.stanford.edu I think I will start doing it as well as WCG. I just started crunching a few days ago so I'm by no means an expert. I just noticed that Stanford also has a good program.

Re: WCG Falling asleep ?

Also, the WCG techs have informed us that another new project is well on the way. Hopefully we'll see proof of this in the next few weeks with some Beta testing. From what snippets of information we've already had, it'll be a Cancer based project.

Re: WCG Falling asleep ?

It is a little strange to see so few projects. It has to be a concern that volunteers could migrate away from WCG to other grids and never look back. I'm staying more than busy with CEP which I find exciting, but I'd also love to see a new project start up!

FYI in case you didn't know, CEP (The Clean Energy Project) is on WCG, but it's opt-in due to higher system requirements than usual.

Re: WCG Falling asleep ?

I am doing a CEP right now. What I am seeing is no tasks "waiting to start" and I usually have about 8-10. What I am seeing is when one is finished, that CPU waits until the task is uploaded, then 1 task will be downloaded and the CPU runs it.

I have a 8 cpu machine with 8 gig of memory so it crunches a lot.
