Which of the 3 cards serves as the one having the display plugged in? Given that you've been flopping cards around, it's clearly not the cards, but something in your setup. Oh, and this is not the first report of seeing this. Search forum... I don''t remember outcome, but something about order of driver installing would not surprise me or some silly jumper setting. (And manuals do lie at times... maybe search the mfg forums for such a discussed issue). Thanks Rob - however, this system does not run with a monitor. I just connect remotely using VNC when crunching on the GPU's or RDP when not. I'll do a search...

Niiiiiiice board. The ROG stuff makes me drool:) I wonder what the On-demand Crossfire Technology does... maybe you're running crossfire without knowing it. 3.2TFLOPS IS pretty massive for a 7770.

Crossfire requires a bridge between the GPU's and I haven't installed one. Crossfire combines the power of 2 or more GPU's to increase the performance of the video output. To use it you have to install the bridge and enable it in the AMD software

..... 3.2TFLOPS IS pretty massive for a 7770. ....I thought it was GFlops same as mine ![]() 3200 gflops = 3.2 tflops. Reference spec for 7770 is 1.28 tflops peak... hence my guess since there are 3 cards and and the idea of an onboard method of bridging doesn't sound too too crazy:) 3-way is new to me, but he pic labels the slots as SLI/CrossFireX. Eh, worth a shot:) http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/CROSSHAIR_V_FORMULAZ/ |

Guys, any other ideas as to where the problem may be?
----------------------------------------At the weekend, I'm going to remove all cards and install the HD7850's from one of my other machines, yes, I'll remove drivers and start afresh to see if it points to the MB being at fault. BTW becay - 3 or 4-way crossfire requires 3/4 x GPU's with the option to install 2 x bridges, these as far as I'm aware are only available on the later GPU's, I know they are available on the HD7970's and others of that sort of spec. Now they are some serious crunching GPU's they list as - 11264 GFLOPS peak! before o/c Yes thats correct 11.264T/flops

Have you tested the simplest configuration of only one GPU installed, and trying it in the different slots? What GFLOPS results do you get then?
