I think that having a WCG or BOINC screensaver would generate some interest at the places I frequent.
More so than having the BOINC screen up with little numbers counting down! In the past, on one of my Desktops, I had a WCG screensaver. Now though, a few years later, I can't seem to find one. I went through about eighty Forum pages here, could not find any topics on how to install the screensaver! Thanks, in advance, for any insight toward accomplishing my goal! I.E. getting screensaver and then getting more people crunching and, well, peaking the interest of a certain pretty, geeky and tall brunette that visits my local coffee hole...  Seriously, Thanks! |

I think you will find that if you install the WCG version of boinc rather than the one from Berkeley it gives you the choice of running as a screen saver which will be the WCG version. I cannot comment on what it is like as I do not use it as I devote all available CPU cycles to crunching rather than pictures

Having a quick play around I find that you can switch the screen saver on/off in Control panel, but as all my stuff is from Berkeley not WCG (for GPU processing) I cannot see what the WCG saver is like.....any one help who has the WCG version?

Well, I'm running BOINC 7.0.64 and the BOINC screensaver shows the WGC graphics.

My memory is useless.....I cannot remember if the "Run as a Screensaver" is different to just the screen saver in control panel.....

On 6.2.28 in order to see the screen saver, go to "view", then "simple view", then right underneath the picture click on "graphics available" and the screen saver will pop up in another window. You can then size the window to your liking.

I have checked the screen savers in the control panel for Boinc Version 7.0.47 and I think they will do all you want to advertise WCG
