My machines are also back up and running but downloads / uploads are very slow at best and currently aren't transferring at all. I suspect this is down to the backlog and bandwidth limitations so not worried at the moment.

You are correct, the download speeds for WCG are slow at the moment. We have lots of machines attempting to download work units from us at the moment. It should get better in about 30 minutes to an hour is my guess.
