Mapping Cancer Markers Scientist posted:
As currently planned, over the course of the project, MCM will proceed in four phases, analyzing a different cancer dataset in each phase. The first (and current) phase is focused on lung cancer. So far, MCM work units have explored the space of lung cancer signatures that are composed of 10-20 genetic markers at a time.

We estimate about 350,000,000 work units in total for the project (counting redundancy) -- about 80,000,000 to 100,000,000 work units per cancer.

We are delighted by the incredible response to this project. Thank you all for making this project possible with your enthusiasm and your donated CPU cycles.

Todate WCG has returned 26,261,594 WU Results.
Rough calculation:
350,000,000 - 26,261,594 = 323,738,406 to do. Averaging ~503,119 results daily.

Nice to see our two newest recruits still merrily crunching away, one thing though JonnieB I haven't seen any mention of badges for them as they rocket up the rankings. Sorry to mention it Statsmeister blushing

Very happy to be at the weekend after a busy week at work. Whilst knowing there are still several nasty jobs to do on Monday, can relax for a short time now. My brain was frazzled last night when I finally escaped the office, really don't like being thrown from one difficult call to another and then to another without being able to clear my head in between and write up what the call was about.

But anyway, AAAAaaaaahhhhhh coffee
