Looks like there's been an official response to the survey, along with outlining plans on where WCG plan to move on from here...

Looks like there's been an official response to the survey, along with outlining plans on where WCG plan to move on from here... (Link) I like it Though the proof of the pudding will be in the eating! I particularly like the section on Teams since it addresses one of my pet hobby-horses Teams can provide a valuable sense of community and inclusion, but many members feel that teams are not receiving enough attention and support. We hope to address this by:

The summer is not being especially kind to the UK team as members find things to do other than crunching!
---------------------------------------- We currently have 40 members who have crunched at some point in 2013 but are now InActive, including 9 who have become InActive since Aug 1. These 40 InActive members have contributed over 6 years RunTime in 2013. Just noticed this is my #2,000 post in the WCG forum! ![]() ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by jonnieb-uk at Aug 20, 2013 10:06:00 AM] |

Spotted this just now from Seke Rob Whatever you wish to remember... As we know Friday is a popular BETA launch day, let the hands-on members be on full alert over the weekend and the techs taking stock on Monday... more Haha. laughing ---------------------------------------- Hope there is something new coming up. SekeRob's humour loses something in translation! As he has often said, he has no special access to privleged information. A better understanding of what is already in the public domain maybe but there is no official news about a new project other than the long ago "new cancer project later this summer" and knreed's post Aug 1However, we are within 2.5 weeks +/- a week of starting the beta test for our next research project (focusing on cancer research) and it will not be VINA based - this should give you a good project to run if you are willing to check back in a few weeks. By my calculation that gives a window Aug 11 - Aug 25. So take SekeRob's post with a large dose of salt and don't hold your breath for tomorrow. Quelle Surprise! No BETA test appeared on Friday. I note from yesterday' s User Study Report that the new Cancer project will now be lauched "in the fall" (autumn). Being pedantic, BETA tests appear before a project launch, so knreed's window is still open! Wicksman has returned to crunch after a ~6 day break. ![]() |

Afternoon team.
----------------------------------------Been absent from the forum for a bit. Still crunching but not at my usual rate. Have had to switch off the works computer from here, it's been struggling with the heat and the office has been like an oven. Hoping to get it back crunching here soon. The home computer has also not been running as much as normal. It would certainly be good to get a new project under way here after so many have ended recently. Hopefully not too long to wait. Congrats to Gordoma for the ol' salty seadog racing. Was this how your meeting with the Captain went? ![]() Well done all for the lots of points milestone passed yesterday and to Jonnieb, 2000 posts already And finally, had a Forest Fruit ale from Wychwood last night. Rather enjoyable berry flavoured ale, a bit sweeter than my usual. Will recommend to try and find a bottle or two, goes down nicely chilled. Cheers n beers all! ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by genhos at Aug 20, 2013 12:17:42 PM] |

I've been off and busy for the last few days, had my second wedding anniversary yesterday. Great day
Turns out one of my computers had turned off which is why my RT had been lower the last few days but that should be back to normal now. |
