Welcome back, genhos, and happy anniversary to Maugan! smile

My brother and sister-in-law celebrated their 5th anniversary, at the start of this month - time flies, hardly seems like a few weeks ago that they were getting married!

Morning Team
Congrats to Gordoma for the ol' salty seadog racing. Was this how your meeting with the Captain went? tongue
LOL. I love that scene. I thought it best not to open with "I wager those dainty pinkies have never weighed anchor in a storm". Talking of storms, I'm glad I didn't watch this until I got back. Although much of the training was based on what they shouldn't have done in the 1979 Fastnet. One of the key things is "always step UP into a liferaft"... i.e., only when the ship is about to sink and is beyond recovery. Makes sense after seeing that dramatisation.

Good afternoon team,

Anybody who thinks CPUs are fast enough want to try rendering with Revit. Trying to produce a high res 3D rendered building image and after 5 days, it is not even 2/3 complete.

My performance had taken a very big hit this last week.

@ crooks_uk
Any ETA on completion?

The hit to your personal stats is reflected in the team's stats with the 7day Average RT per cd falling on 9 of the last 10 days :
		        7day Avg
Date RT per cd
20-Aug-13 299.9 -5.0
19-Aug-13 304.9 -6.3
18-Aug-13 311.2 -3.0

16-Aug-13 319.0 -5.8

14-Aug-13 333.7 -5.8
13-Aug-13 339.5 0.9

11-Aug-13 344.0 -1.4
10-Aug-13 345.4 -1.5
09-Aug-13 346.9

Average RT per cd for August is in danger of falling below that for July:

Can we expect to see any benefit from the impending Bank Holiday weekend? confused

Re: In Other News

Still no news back from the probate-solicitors, but I have found a decent alternative hosting-provider in case the power-requirements for my planned monster-server are too much to be able to host it in work...

- £39/month = 1 server up to 4U, 5000GB/month, 5 usable IPs (so a /29 allocation), 1 remote-reboot power-port, email/SMS monitoring, £0 setup fee, but only 0.4A current-allowance

This looked cheap, but the 0.4A was useless for my purposes, until I looked at the next deal along:

- £49/month = 1 server up to 4U, 5000GB/month, 5 usable IPs (so a /29 allocation), 1 remote-reboot power-port, email/SMS monitoring, £0 setup fee, with completely unmetered current/power allowance

This sounds too good to be true, will need to check if they have a "fair usage policy" on that unmetered bit - if not, I think I'll be putting the monster-server in there, unless work come up with an amazing deal to match it (or close enough).

Hi everyone, to ease speculation.. yes we're still on track to launch our next cancer project in (hopefully early) fall. We're currently in alpha testing and will release to beta once we're ready. Yes, although it's a cancer project from the same scientific team as HCC, it uses a completely different line of research and is therefore a brand new project and not a continuation of HCC. Yes, we will launch on CPU first with potential for Android later and maybe even GPU some time in the future.
