We gained a points place today by overtaking SETiUSA, remember them being many places above us a few years ago. Well done team.

I'm not going down without a fight, Apis! You seem to be stabilising your slim results advantage DC. I have no more resources to sling at this, so if you keep it up you'll stay ahead. But don't doze off! In the mean time: 250,000 results for the team -- yey! ![]() |

Nicely done Apis. I think a Yey is definitely warranted for your 250,000 team results

But don't doze off! It will only be for a couple of weeks. I have switched to SCC rather than MCM, and the units are smaller. Also, I've switched a few more cores back on because it's winter, and I'm a sore loser ![]()

Morning team UK,
----------------------------------------Reached 600,000 results this morning, but I think Mac1 will soon pass me and drop me down to 7th. Congratulations Mac1, your daily result total is out of this world since you moved to SCC. ncoded.com your results output is amazing as well. ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Darkmatter.NI at Nov 16, 2018 8:40:27 AM] |

Just to confirm what Mac1 said; 2 days of testing/benchmarking the 2x Thread rippers on Windows 10 vs Linux have given the following results:
----------------------------------------Windows 10 (25K) vs Linux (45K) on SCC So nearly a 50% increase (on BOINC points) just by swapping OS. ncoded.com your results output is amazing as well. We are now in the process of moving all hosts Linux, as well as putting together a dual Xeon E5-2690V1 box, so hopefully we can nearly double our output in the next week or so. ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by ncoded.com at Nov 16, 2018 11:50:43 AM] |

Congratulations Mac1, your daily result total is out of this world since you moved to SCC. Thanks DMNI, yes those SCC's are a lot smaller, like Zika's except less points so hopefully we can nearly double our output in the next week or so. Nice one Ncoded - also worth noting is that Linux is more efficient on certain projects, there's a thread on it somewhere. From memory OAT and Zika are two that perform much better on Linux than on Windows. So you should see additional improvements there too. And of course there is the general discrepancies between points returned across the projects, SCC seems particularly stingy. Dave's website is useful for spotting the project points efficiencies. All in all that'll be another welcome boost to the team ![]()

Thanks for the further info Mac1, need to do a bit of research later on all this.
----------------------------------------Seems Team UK have been (auto) enrolled into another WCG Challenge; The 14th Birthday Challenge, this time based on points, with much more capable other Teams. Should be interesting to see how well we rank. https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/team/chall...lenge.do?challengeId=9145 ![]() [Edit 8 times, last edit by ncoded.com at Nov 16, 2018 6:23:15 PM] |
