Hm ok can it be my kill signal 9 errors i got since today has to do with that? It was running since a week without problems.

Which is 'that'?... a new science app? [seen no beta announcement], a new client version? [seen nothing talked about above 7.2.8, which requires AIU, the user having to update the client app].

A "Non Sequitur" as a former CA would describe this. There was no new app, so how could that be the cause? [unless your device only today started on v7.06 and before that had no problem with 7.03]

Update: I updated yesterday to 7.2.8 from the Play store and am still getting the SIGSEGV errors.

The issue with SIGSEGV is an issue with the research application (Fight Aids@Home VINA) running under the BOINC client so an upgrade to the BOINC client should have no effect on this. We are working on a fix and once we have a stable version there will be a beta test for Fight Aids@Home VINA.
