Hint
---------------------------------------- Crunching a 46770 FAHV version on the Linux 64 quad machine, no HT, projected to last just 47 minutes. World Community Grid 7.03 fahv FAHV_x3NF8_A_IN_LEDGF_0046770_0212_1 00:47:12 Short and sweet, guess it's a pathfinder for the techs to learn if parms are set right and sizing is good for these Experiments/Batches and the different power devices, with the soon to launch Android version added to the equation. The just added 182 million dockings [see Dr.Perryman post on AD Vina] appends years more crunching [with hopes to have 1 billion calculations concluded in a year. [Look in FAHV Result log to see how many attempts to dock a compound are included, noting that they are very likely spread over multiple tasks to complete 1 compound [HFCC AutoDock has 2 tasks with maximum dockings packed for 1 compound]. Crunch on. Edit: The Half way 47 minutes turned into an actual of... AMD 8320 (8 core) / Gigabyte 970A-DS3 / 8Gb RAM / Win7-64 producing FAHV results (4 so far) @ 0.79, 0.99, 0.61, 0.86 Hours, at 80% WCG.
Arizona(USA) temps of 105-115*F minus 24x7 room AirCon= Room ambient 80-83*F + 2 floor fans = 8 core temps of 50- 55*C. (Max. ~66*C) Any higher than 80% leads to random reboots (and recovery) from W7. 4 Dual core and 2 single core towers share the room with the 8 core. Have no problem running them @ 100% WCG. Finished few of FAHV on Mac OS X 10.8.4. (Mountain Lion), i5-2500S, 7.0.65, no loops, nor other problems, all turned valid. Run-time: 22 - 35 mins.
----------------------------------------Cheers ![]() ETA: So far no problem also on my Win7 64b, i7-3770, 7.2.4. Just the run times are much longer: 28 mins - 1 h 7 mins. ![]() Crunching@Home since January 13 2000. So far so good with those VINA WUs I've run. So far I've not had any reboot or other issues with my VINA WUs. I've gotten a bunch of these VINA WUs yesterday, so I'll see if my run of good luck continues today as my laptop crunches through two dozen or so of them during the day today.
The VINA WUs seem to be running between 45 and 90 minutes (most right around 60 minutes) on my laptop versus 5-10 hours on the Autodock WUs. |

The majority of my WUs are still Autodock, but the few VINA WUs, I've received have processed fine (although they are kind of short). Wonder if FAAH plans to phase out Autodock?

Visit the latest Research news. In a nutshell, the science "Tool" as is been referred to in the front page and news article is chosen for best result, either AD Vina or just AD, even both if retest is deemed warranted. Dr. Perryman expands considerably on this.

Hello littlepeaks,
Dr. Perryman has said that AutoDock is most accurate for some targets and AutoDock Vina is more accurate for other targets. He intends to run targets on the best choice. AD Vina does run faster. Lawrence |
