Although I successfully completed two Beta jobs on this laptop, I have had to abort two jobs now on my Lenovo T500 Intel P8600 @2.4GHz running Windows Vista. Jobs start and run to 6.66% then restart and repeat the same pattern. Rebooted the machine but no change. Not sure if there is a way to prevent receiving these, if I am not watching they run forever.
Same symptom I saw several peple report with BETA tasks. Let me know what additional information might be helpful ![]() |

Saw this coming, highlighted it that a sub-selection was needed and here we are without escape route for devices that don't deal well with VINA based science, though run well with AutoDock [which is for the moment finite for the foreseeable future]. The next 5 experiments 42-46 are indicated to run on AD Vina only, or I misread. Unless something else launches soon, IRDK, the choice is... to CEP2 or not at WCG.

You would still have to abort those you downloaded . |

1), You'd still receive them.... eating your cache space, slowing the batch completion process at that. **
----------------------------------------2), Null means "no restriction" [in many BOINC parm cases]. edit: ** They'd be sitting there 10 days, then eventually get server aborted when another host completes the No Reply task after the 10th day. The same happens here! I have a VINA job that restarts at 3,846% and it looks like an infinite loop.
What can we do about that? |

One of my boxes has picked up and ran one of these without issue (now validated). However, I came home today to find one on another box spent the entire day restarting. Interestingly, when I aborted the task, the next task started and then BOINC almost immediately suspended. When I examined Task Manager, it showed the "aborted" task still running. It took almost four minutes for it to finally stop running, and the next task in line to start running. (This is an older single core/"spare" PC.)
Saw this in the log: 07/19/2013 5:04:36 PM World Community Grid [error] garbage_collect(); still have active task for acked result FAHV_x3NF8_A_IN_LEDGF_0046755_0782_1; state 5 07/19/2013 5:04:37 PM World Community Grid Computation for task FAHV_x3NF8_A_IN_LEDGF_0046755_0782_1 finished 07/19/2013 5:04:37 PM World Community Grid Output file FAHV_x3NF8_A_IN_LEDGF_0046755_0782_1_0 for task FAHV_x3NF8_A_IN_LEDGF_0046755_0782_1 absent 07/19/2013 5:04:46 PM World Community Grid [error] Couldn't delete file projects/www.worldcommunitygrid.org/FAHV_x3NF8_A_IN_LEDGF_0046755_0782_FAHV_x3NF8_A_IN_LEDGF_0046755_0782.zip 07/19/2013 5:08:29 PM Resuming computation |

Client versions for those reporting this/these problem? The 7.03 science version suggests the v7 API/Wrapper was used building this science app. Got now a good dozen done on 3 devices, and but for short, they run as yawn unobtrusive as the graphics of this app are unexciting, client versions 7.0.65 to 7.2.5.

I am still running 6.10.58 but running the same version on other machines that seem to run fine ..maybe I will try updating this weekend on the failing laptop. Quick question...do I have to let the machine run dry before doing the update?
