Is it me/my computer, or is the website sluggish again? Rather slow here too - many seconds to start loading pages. Paul.

It wasn't just you. The WCG website was completely unreachable to me yesterday from when I came home until now. None of my clients could communicate either. I even rebooted. I thought I was going to come here this morning and find an explanation of why the website was down.

@ NixChix
----------------------------------------The explanation for the downtime is here It's worth noting for future reference that fairly prompt notification of the outage (which began ~23:00 UTC) was posted on both Twitter and Facebook |

I was offlined as well last night by the storm in the GTA! No power, no internet access, and I went to bed at 10pm (and I am a night owl)! Luckily, my main computer that runs WCG is in different grid (and in a different city) that has power, and I changed the settings so that WCG buffered 2 days of work before the blackout happened! (I re-discovered WCG last week! I worked for the torolab many years ago, and in fact in 2001 I ran the UD client for a few months!) Rayson Open Grid Scheduler: http://gridscheduler.sourceforge.net/ |
