And my temperature of 2 cores are now 64 and 57 C. If you feel that is too hot, you could try opening the case and cleaning the insides of your computer. Regarding the message you are getting, hibernating could be a cause. Unless you start getting errors or loosing runtime, I wouldn't worry too much about it. If you do start getting errors or loosing runtime, I would perform a project reset and stop hibernating(if you hibernate). Hope I helped. ![]() - AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF 6C/12T 3.2 GHz - 85W - AMD Ryzen 5 2500U 4C/8T 2.0 GHz - 28W - AMD Ryzen 7 7730U 8C/16T 3.0 GHz [Edit 1 times, last edit by Falconet at Jul 2, 2013 7:43:06 PM] |

I have a question regarding the "return to 0" or previous status for CEP2 WUs. I understand that if I power down the computer, the WU progress % will return to 0 or other lesser %. My question is: will I see the same behavior if I first suspend the CEP2 WU and then power down? (Obviously I will have to resume the CEP2 WU when I power up the computer).

Make sure to leave LAIM on. ![]() - AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF 6C/12T 3.2 GHz - 85W - AMD Ryzen 5 2500U 4C/8T 2.0 GHz - 28W - AMD Ryzen 7 7730U 8C/16T 3.0 GHz |

I had a similar experience to markop619.
----------------------------------------My Windows 7 OS only had the sleep option (no hibernate option). When I selected it I could see the disk light on continuously for several seconds as the contents of memory were written to disk. I switched off the power at the socket. When switching on again, Windows recognised it was resuming and not starting. BoincTasks showed restarting tasks without going back to previous checkpoints but some tasks sometimes failed after completing as markop619 stated. The solution was to use the sleep option and leave mains power switched on. I have had no CEP2 failures or lost time since then. [Edit 1 times, last edit by ca05065 at Jul 2, 2013 8:36:07 PM] |

Suspend makes me feel better (more prudent) but actually should not make any difference.
I do it anyway. You can always use BOINC Manager to see in advance how much computing time you will lose if you shut down. Go to the TASKS tab, select a work unit, then click on Properties in the left bar. This will bring a popup window with several entries. "CPU Time at Last Check Point" and "CPU Time" let you calculate how many minutes you will lose when you start over at the last check point.Lawrence I have a question regarding the "return to 0" or previous status for CEP2 WUs. Do you think that this is too hot? Do you think that I should putmy grid on lower CPU usage? Now is on 100 %. I clean my computer very often from dust.

I would not worry too much with those temperatures as they can go to 75 without a worry. Are your fans running hard or are they just idling?

And my temperature of 2 cores are now 64 and 57 C. Agree with Scribe - your temperatures seem OK. My i7-3770 (4 cores, 8 threads), running 24/7 100% is showing app. 60 C in average (max 63 C few weeks ago when outside temperatures went above 35 C). Sounds like sleep means suspend and when you cut the power it didn't exactly shutdown properly. To hibernate, I believe you need to have a swapfile with at least the same size as your RAM(no idea if true). ![]() - AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF 6C/12T 3.2 GHz - 85W - AMD Ryzen 5 2500U 4C/8T 2.0 GHz - 28W - AMD Ryzen 7 7730U 8C/16T 3.0 GHz |
