Thank you. Oh my God, 13 years, 24/7?! Lawrence I have all projects checked always if you think about that. Leave application in memory is set to yes. My grid is using 70 & of CPU (use no more then 70 % of CPU box) , I think it is enough, or that I put higher than that?

or leave your PC running 27/7 Hi Scribe, where do you find those extra 21 hours in a week - I could certainly utilise them ![]() ![]() My boss has been pushing us 30 hrs a day for years, there is even times when he has us working 8 & 9 days a week ![]() edit: Back On Topic: I also run 24/7 at 100% for over 5 years (well over). If you are worried about overheating check out TThrottle at: http://www.efmer.eu/boinc/ [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jul 1, 2013 7:16:27 PM] |

Hello markop619,
CPU usage depends on your cooling. If you are using a laptop, you might consider 50% (1 second on, 1 second off) because laptops have poor cooling (70% means 7 seconds on, 3 seconds off). If you have a desktop, why not run at 100% the way I do? For that matter, running 3 cores in a quad at 100% amounts to running 4 cores at 75% but involves less thermal stress, leaves more memory free, etc. Use google to find a utility to tell you your CPU temperature and decide after you see what temperatures you are dealing with. A desktop that cannot run at 100% is very poorly designed. Lawrence |

Thank you Lawrence. These are my spec: Pentium dual core CPU E5700, 3 GHz, 2 GB RAM, Windows 7 ultimate. I have desktop computer, can I run my grid with 100 % CPU? I download a program that measure CPU temperature and results are CPU Core 1: 55-60 C and CPU Core 2: 49-55 C. This is with 70 % of CPU that grid use.

According to Intel, the temperature for that CPU can go up to 74.5º. My AMD Athlon II X2 4450e 3.5GHZ is running at 50º with the case open. With the case closed it increases around 12-14º. Ambient temperature is around 28º. What I would do is set BOINC to use 100% of the CPU. If the temps are okay with you just let it run. If not, use TThrottle. There you can set a maximum temperature for your CPU. Hope I helped. ![]() - AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF 6C/12T 3.2 GHz - 85W - AMD Ryzen 5 2500U 4C/8T 2.0 GHz - 28W - AMD Ryzen 7 7730U 8C/16T 3.0 GHz |

I set grid to run with 100 % of CPU and for now it is ok. But I noticed something else. See this messages, my CEP2 restarts to zero and starts again and DSFL also restarts but it continued from where he was. 2.7.2013. 14:56:02 World Community Grid Task E214229_294_C.36.C30H15N3OS2.02016693.3.set1d06_0 exited with zero status but no 'finished' file, 2.7.2013. 14:56:02 World Community Grid If this happens repeatedly you may need to reset the project. 2.7.2013. 14:56:02 World Community Grid Task DSFL_00100-48_0000004_0748_0 exited with zero status but no 'finished' file, 2.7.2013. 14:56:02 World Community Grid If this happens repeatedly you may need to reset the project.
Why it is happening? This is not first time that I see this messages. |

I read it but I don't know what to do. I have ticked option leave application in memory, my computer is not in hibernate state, I am working now on my computer. And I see this message, not always but rarely. Can you tell me what should I do to prevent this messages and that my projects would not be restarted?
