Re: Work Assignments

....another thought. Looking at when your last result was returned it was about the end of HCC GPU processing. As there are no other GPU tasks to be sent please make sure your "Allow research to run on my CPU? " is marked as "YES", otherwise you will not receive any WUs. wink If that is the problem fine, if not please send the beginning of the Event Log as requested biggrin

Re: Work Assignments

Client 7.1.3? That's a 'Test' version, and an early one at that!
http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=8378&postid=49430 Unless you know what you're doing and require to have this, suggest to go back to last 'recommended' of either WCG or Berkeley.

With me having done nothing, I'm now getting non-GPU WUs from the fightAIDS project.

Re: Work Assignments

Hello lohphat@earthlink.net,
I am glad you are now receiving FAAH work units. They have always been available. The only non-bug reason that I can imagine for not receiving them is if you used to run HCC GPU units and the BOINC scheduler kept downloading HCC units even though WCG was getting more than its fair share of compute time. I think that would indeed have happened, but I am not an expert on GPU scheduling in BOINC.

Anyway, you have now worked off your debt and should receive the proper share of WCG work in the future.

I envy your 3770.

cool
Lawrence

Re: Work Assignments

To me the critical part is in RED -

12-Jun-13 19:51:31 | | No config file found - using defaults
12-Jun-13 19:51:31 | | Starting BOINC client version 7.1.3 for windows_x86_64

Change the version for a recommended one biggrin

Re: Work Assignments

There never was a problem as was posted in the first log piece

09-Jun-13 18:16:33 | World Community Grid | Not requesting tasks: don't need

and as Lawrence noted in his first reply, buffer full, no push buttons helping, and now the balance has apparently swayed and WCG has/had the highest fetch priority. Difference in v7 is, the client will not constantly balance share time to the minute... it will do bulk calls if can be, so it will do one project, give it a good push, then move onto the next project. Particularly with "Maximum additional work buffer" being non-zero this will be more pronounced. More efficient for the project schedulers. This is nothing new in 7.1.x, as this plan was implemented with 7.0.xx.
