Can any one tell me why we waste the lives of British, American and other NATO soldiers to 'support' a country we all know will go down the pan to medieval values where women are second class citizens?

For fhe same reason war has always been used since the end of WWII. Geo-Politics. Land,power,influence,energy,politics,resource,etcetera,etcetera,etcetera.
