confused Upper/lowercase username problem

Good morning,

i having a problem with my username.

My real username in Boinc and other projects is "Alucardeck", uppercase letter A.

when i registered for WorldCommunityGrid, it goes to "alucardeck", lowercase letter A.

now in my BAM/Boinc account, they did not merged. i see there is two accounts there.
i am using the same client manager to process my projects, but each one is giving points to diferent accounts?

there is a way to merge it?
or maybe someone change my username to "Alucardeck".
or any configuration i can do in Boinc?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Upper/lowercase username problem

Hi, welcome to WCG.

Merging is not really dependent on the name, rather the email account. If they are *exactly* the same, ideally everywhere in lowercase, then it takes a few days for them to align to the oldest CPID (Cross Project ID), ever created at the various projects you have an account at.

Notwithstanding, lowercase, or mixed case, as you see from my handle is supported. What you do is to go to My Grid > My Profile and temporarily add an s at the end of your name to become Alucardecks [Case A] and save the profile, log out and log in with the temp name. Then visit My Grid > My Profile again and change the name to Alucardeck and save again. Log out, log in. The next time BOINCStats syncs with WCG, the name will show with Case A over there.

BTW, when you log in, and your browser does not remember what you typed in before, it does not really matter whether you type you member name with or without case A. The system is not case sensitive at sign-in. It's though case sensitive in forum searches on authors.

Re: Upper/lowercase username problem

Hi, I did as you said, my name here is uppercase now, i hope it fix and merges into BAM.Boinc.

cause i noticed it created two profiles there. both emails are the same, and i can only login in the uppercase account.

i really dont know what happened when i tried to join WCG =/

i hope this works, thanks a lot!

edit:

hmm, my CPID are differents from WCG and my Boinc account.
this is a problem, isnt?

Re: Upper/lowercase username problem

Synchronization works. Don't worry about it.
