Anyone know of a project to keep my GPU busy until WCG gets back to GPU work?

Hi Scribe,
Looking at Life Sciences at http://www.distributedcomputing.info/projects.html, I don't see anything. Maybe the Science list has something to interest you and use your GPU. Lawrence |

folding@home have their new core17 in beta which is supposed to make very efficient use of AMD GPUs. Their current core also works OK, but is not as efficient. I'll be letting my cards cool off for the summer and use them there over the winter, unless WCG have another suitable project available by then.

(NOT NVIDIA) precludes GPUGRID which is that brand only FAIK. It's a pretty sad affair that GPGPU are not so General Purpose. Anyway, OpenCL is what is needed to run on all, including the intel_gpu on the I7's, so that would be the question to ask... medical research using OpenCL.

Folding, GPUGRID ... The 1st. have crappy application and the 2nd. has no application for the intended hardware... While FAH did have Core_17 in beta, they've decided to incorporate some updates, meaning for the moment Core_17 isn't even in closed beta yet. If the slow beta-test already did is any indication for the updated Core_17, it's not certain it will be released before in 2014... AFAIK for the moment, Poem@home is probably the best choise when it comes to health-related GPU-crunching. ![]() "I make so many mistakes. Poem is NOT sending out any GPU WUs.....lready tried that! Yes, they are, but they're limiting them because they can process only so much. |
