Driver Crash

Whilst playing various games while crunching on the GPU, the gfx driver will eventually crash and restart. Causing a pause in the game and stopping progress on the WU. I say stopping progress, as the timer will then continue to tick on but no actual work will be done from that point. Anyone else experience this?

Re: Driver Crash

This is a known issue with Windows. I have a fix for it that I'll post when I get home from work later today.

Re: Driver Crash

Found twice the mention by nanoprobe of a registry edit: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewpostinthread?post=405180 but not the actual key setting, at least not on the WCG forums. Maybe there was?

edit: Maybe this post: https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewpostinthread?post=402350 discussing a stuck WU.

Re: Driver Crash

That is the fix SekeRob. I thought I had posted it here before but couldn't find it.

@cw64- Copy and paste the ALL the text below, including the Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 part into notepad. Rename it fix.reg
Right click on the file and open with registry editor. You'll be asked if you want to add this to the registry, select yes. Reboot and you're done. That should stop the driver resets.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Watchdog]
"DisableBugCheck"="1"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Watchdog\Display]
"EaRecovery"="0"
