Hello zarck,
----------------------------------------This contains the list of GPU types that do not work with the WCG HCC ( Help Conquer Cancer ) project: https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/help/viewTopic.do?shortName=GPU WCG only runs one project for GPUs - HCC. HCC is written for OpenCL code. NVIDIA gpus run OpenCL relatively slowly. NVIDIA drivers are optimized to run CUDA rather than OpenCL. Lawrence Added: I would never think of using a new NVIDIA GPU for an OpenCL project, so I just had to read a bit more. This is from an article on Anandtech: Meanwhile with the launch of Titan NVIDIA has repositioned their traditional video card lineup to change who the ultimate video card will be chasing. With a price of $999 Titan is decidedly out of the price/performance race; Titan will be a luxury product, geared towards a mix of low-end compute customers and ultra-enthusiasts who can justify buying a luxury product to get their hands on a GK110 video card. The current benchmarks place this a little below a 7970 in single precision for Open CL. However it has been reported that the driver is not fully baked for Open CL upon release, so a driver update will likely change these numbers.
----------------------------------------http://http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/ge...mance-review,3442-10.html I am also interested in the real world numbers as applied to this project. However it may be a while. These cards are currently in short supply.

GeForce GTX TITAN discussion on PrimeGrid
GeForce GTX TITAN discussion on SETI@home No benchmarks currently posted. On PrimeGrid, the development team is working on new compiled applications and will test on a variety of cards, including the GTX TITAN. In the SETI@home thread, one volunteer has attempted to run work units but have come back with errors. He was using an optimized app, not the official SETI@home client, so no current benchmarks from that camp yet, either. I haven't checked the other CUDA-based BOINC projects like GPUGrid or Einstein@home. I've always used NVIDIA cards, mostly for gaming purposes. During the cooler months, I'll pick a CUDA project and crunch work units almost 24/7. |

Thought it rather quizzical to see this thread being launched by zarck asking what projects are optimized for this card [hardly off the conveyor belt], and this not being the only place he did that, for... per the dev mail list, BOINC does not presently identify the hardware correctly and under-reports the amount of GDDR5, not 6 but 4GB. You need a BOINC later than whatever version this will be fixed with [and that's not by priority me thinketh].
