Well......if benchies are gonna be quoted as proof...a more thorough test needs to be performed. I may throw Ubuntu on a rig and try it myself. Me no windows fanboy........but blanket "linux is better" statements won't aid the linux cause. So why not try some performance tests. Personally, I will happily completely switch to linux when someone writes copies of Photoshop and Painter etc for it ![]() edit.....and a nicer interface wouldn't go amiss either. edit 2..I think, rather than windows itself....the bulk of windows problems are due to poor system maintenance by the user rather than the os itself. Full blown fully supported distros kinda hamper the "linux is free" cry too. Seems that, at the moment at least....gamers need windows. Hope linux continues to gain ground but I think I will remain stuck with the Fisher Price os. Use linux part time as a learning tool. Sounds like it would of been cheaper just to buy a whole new complete rig..At least you are staying positive about everything....Gives me a few more days to increase my lead... ![]() think your lead will always be safe, In the end i have actually bought most of a rig, or at least the main parts dagnammit Oy...I carefully selected those colours!!! the brown represents the badness of only getting 10,000 points I suppose? |

Big VAIO also wrote: Pity about the colour though ![]() A creation of lil vaio... before then the earliest you got a star was your green for 50k. The 10k star needed to look less impressive than Gold, Blue, Red and Green. Brown seemed to work well with existing colour schemes. The details are on the UD board: HERE. A more verbose discussion can be found HERE. |

I chose brown because it is actually a nice colour (in my opinion)...and apparently...this year brown is the new black...for the fashion conscious.
That, allied to the view the colour represents in most peoples' minds....and the fact that it was the best contrast to the pre-existing colours made it an ideal candidate. I woulda had blue as the top star myself but I knew most people would associate yellow/gold as being the highest. The red was the original lowest value.....and not without reason |
