afternoon Cool
----------------------------------------![]() oops, just bust 2 PSUs on new rig, burning smell coming from them and then they gave up don't think any problems with rest of rig tho, have run a meter over parts and they seem fine edit: spotted a 500watt'er on ebuyer, good rating, lets get buying... this rig is getting more and more expensive as time goes on... Started as buy a new processor in upgrade to a spare socket A mobo (£65) CPU fails mobo fails buy new CPU, mobo and thus RAM CPU goes missing CPU found PSU fails Buy PSU (total now at £135) Shipped for next Tuesday, this time its coming to the house, will make a point of staying in til it comes [Edit 2 times, last edit by Former Member at Aug 3, 2005 3:09:33 PM] |

mousie..........I am curious.
The linux/Windows conclusion is based on a timings run on a 1m super pi run. Can you try running same again using 32m as the bechmark.....that would probably be a more representative run than than a 30 second jobbie. Ya never know......the result may show linux in an even better light than the 1m benchie. |

Sounds like it would of been cheaper just to buy a whole new complete rig..At least you are staying positive about everything....Gives me a few more days to increase my lead...
