branjo, FAICR OS-X file ownerships and accesses have at times to be set manually. If you add the app_config.xml or the cc_config.xml you have to ensure the same BOINC and user accounts get access as the other files. See http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Installing_BOINC and http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Tools_for_Mac_OS_X

[jk]It is long time since I have learned Latin on High School, so I have some problems reading these articles[/jk]

Yes, the wiki/docs are wanting... Any volunteers(?), since but 2 paid individuals, not sure about Charlie Fenton who's doing the Mac side, it's all free-time work... open source.
Mac releases .46 and .47 are out for OSX Intel and PowerPC. Not heard [nor consider] there's been a PowerPC build, mostly because those devices wont have capable enough GPGPU's. |

When placed app_config to the relevant folder and received Ownership and permission error 1202, just re-installed 7.0.31 and after it BOINC set correct rights to app_config.xml. Since there are not new beta WU's, I will not try to upgrade to 7.0.47 yet. Cheers Crunching@Home since January 13 2000. SekeRob - are you running a version higher than 7.0.31 and if so what app_config.xml are you using? I would like to find some info on app_config more than what is listed in the wiki Client Configuration doc.

Cheers Had almost forgotten, that reinstalling BOINC sets *all* files in the data_dir & subs to it's prescribed ownership... and why do things the hard way if can can be done easily ;D |
