Re: FightAIDS@Home Beta Test Jan 25, 2013 (Issues Thread)

Post deleted. I found I had only 4GB of disk space given to BOINC in Preferences, and Einstein was using 3.7GB of that...
I bumped that up to 6GB and now there are 2.1GB available to BOINC unused. So, my bad. mea culpa

I have received 12 and am currently running them. They suspend and resume correctly. Uplinger, is there anything you want us particularly to test about them, or are you primarily interested in whether they validate or not?

Re: FightAIDS@Home Beta Test Jan 25, 2013 (Issues Thread)

One of the main things we're going to be reviewing is the validation of these work units. The application has new functions and new paths that previous work units have not encountered. So we are making sure they don't diverge or cause invalids.

Also, Suspends/Resumes are good because it makes sure our check pointing code works well. We should be able to tell from the stderr and on validation if it's due to check pointing or the code.

Plus whatever unknowns happen.

Thanks,
-Uplinger

I have 7, 2 just completed and pending. The remaining 5 are nearly complete and suspended/resumed without issue. These are all Linux F17/18 on AMD systems and so far are progressing well.

nano,

At this point no. All new work has been sent out. Depending on the results, we could release more for additional testing, but no promises.

Thanks,
-Uplinger

Re: FightAIDS@Home Beta Test Jan 25, 2013 (Issues Thread)

Ok, so no more WUs for this beta-test to be sent out for now. I want to be ready when in case the WU-flow is resumed.

I'm using an app_config (in BOINC_v7.0.44) for my Ubu12.10-machine. Do I need to configure that app_config for the machine to be able to receive crunch* the WUs in this beta-test? If so, and in particular, what is the code for the WU in this beta for use in that app_config?

Thanks.

*edit1_2013.01.28Mo.0205utc
I got confused referring to the action of (BOINC_7.0.44) receiving instances of this particular beta-WUs with the action of (my machine) subsequently crunching -, after reception of -, those beta-WUs. In retrospect, it was my mistake and I should have used the reference-word 'crunch' instead of 'receive'. That correction is now in place.

I got initial 6 tasks -> 1/core
I also got 1 resend, but status 'No Reply' of wingman is strange.
Maybe discrepancy between BOINC server and client code?

All tasks on the same windows machine and runtimes between 3.2 and 5.5 hours.
