Re: Open Letter to the US of A - Independence Cancelled!

Per SNURK's wiki "Jokes are told about everything and almost no subject is taboo", think some of their own sense of humour is not understood within the borders of the British [former] Empire. :P

Personally, I think (America, both north and south, named after the Italian discoverer Amerigo Vespucci https://www.google.it/search?q=amerigo+vespucci , and England (baring witness through the Hadrian Wall), should really be paying their dues to Italy for even being on the map (and help us out of our budget misery). Alternately we'll start levying royalty on any pizza [that's claimed to be a pizza, which of course we'd never contest, officially], which would also help us out of our budget misery, in short order.

BTW The latest etymological studies show that English is really a Turkish dialect... those who'll know the root of their tongue will be able to understand:

Iyi bir gün ve tanrı hız dileğiyle seninle olmak

This is all very funny, and laughter is the best medicine. Anyone who decides to 'take offence' (BritSpell) probably has an attorney in the family, and thinks he can leverage 'being offended' into some form of cash reward for allegedly injured feelings.

Scribe,
Please take us back,
and pay off the Chinese, Russians, Saudis, and whoever else we so foolishly mortgaged our souls to!

Full Disclosure: Yes I moved back to Canada but I'm both US and Canadian.

Anything, as long as we can still have football,
and weak coffee, they are branching out to better beer I hear (not my thing)

hhhmm... that is the first time I've been ripped a new one for posting something (I try to be careful). I wasn't trying to be disrespectful or offensive. So... due to the obtained result from my post:

- I apologize to any who felt offended by the post.
- I will edit the post to remove any controversial/offending remarks.

(still scratching my head as to what was offending confused )

It was probably someone from Chicago

Re: Open Letter to the US of A - Independence Cancelled!

"Everything in the USA is bigger" they told me....... so when I filled up with petrol, how come I get more gallons in the tank than when I fill up at home?

So what the hell is a US gallon?

The gallon, my friends, is an imperial measurement, hence the term Imperial Gallon, in which one gets 8 pints or 4 quarts.

Is this US gallon some kind of proper Imperial Gallon that has been taxed?

Petrol. You call it Gas?

Is it solid? No.

Is it Liquid? Yes

Is it Gas? No!! You see? It is not Gas it is Petrol.
