Thanks for the response, Ingleside.
----------------------------------------If my understanding is correct, the install that I had done for v7.0.42 for Ubuntu12.10, and the Linux-installer for that method -- resulted to a self-contained, self-sufficient, stand-alone application with a stand-alone executable. If v7.0.44 is not any different from that, I was thinking of doing what you suggested, and then replace the v4.0.42-executable with the v7.0.44-executable. But what would happen to the current workload of WUs? Would they be preserved*? Notes: *Last time, with my install of v7.0.42, the WUs were thrashed and I didn't like that one bit. Update: 2013.01.17Th.0545utc I went ahead and allowed the unstarted-WUs to be thrashed by installing BOINC_v7.0.44 in a directory all its own -- just like what I did (and what happened then) when I first tried out and installed BOINC_v7.0.42. Ah well,,, just throw them WUs away. ; ; andzgridPost#804 ; [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jan 17, 2013 5:45:19 AM] |
