Re: intermittent pauses

I read it, and not find any answer.
IP7-960(OC to 3.6Ghz) 24Gb ram Running on 1800Mhz/Gigabyte X58A-UD3R/MSI 7970 Lighting -Running 8 tasks 1 CPU+GPU + 7CPU
IP5 2500K (OC to 4ghz) 32Gb ram running on 1600 mhz/Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3/Gigabyte 7970 - Runing 4 tasks 1cpu+gpu + 3 cpu
IP5 2320K (OC to 3.5ghz) 16Gb ram running on 1600 mhz/Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3/Gigabyte 7970 - Runing 4 tasks 1cpu+gpu + 3 cpu

That is how the app works. There is a CPU and and GPU part. There will be a pause at startup and at 3 other times during the calculations while the CPU is doing its' part of the work. Perfectly normal.

All three CPUs have four cores but the 960 has hyperthreading which is obviously turned on in your case since you are crunching eight WUs with it. It will do twice the amount of work, but take more time.

Re: intermittent pauses

I know it. Logical units have less computing power than hardware unit. Ok. Fine.

Re: intermittent pauses

Since you have not stated your OS's, I will assume you are running W7. Look at c / ProgramData (hidden folder by default) / BOINC if you have cc_config.xml file there.

If yes, edit it and add <use_all_gpus>1</use_all_gpus> into it.

If you do not have it, create it (via e.g. notepad) as:

<cc_config>
<options>
<use_all_gpus>1</use_all_gpus>
</options>
</cc_config>

Restart your computer.

Post if this answered your question.
