I've bit the bullet. I've gone with http://ark.intel.com/products/63697 processor.
6-core 12 threads. I'll be interested to see how the task count improves. I'm going with the http://www.asus.com/ROG/RAMPAGE_IV_FORMULA/ motherboard. It can hold four (4) double-width GPUs. I'm starting with one http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-680 GPU. I've got time to decide how to fill the other three GPU slots. Thanks guys for the valuable points of view. |

Gandalf...I didn't see anyone else mention it before, but just an FYI... AMD doesn't use Hyper Threading. So, that should make future upgrades a little easier to compare.
