Not sure if this is the right place to post this... but I'd like to suggest the definition BOINC uses for "idle" (to determine whether to run GPU work units) be tied to the screensaver (preferably any screensaver, not just the in-built one), rather than a set number of minutes.
After all, applications that expect you to still be "using" the computer even when no input is made, like video players, already suppress the screensaver. This would avoid reinventing the square wheel in that respect. |

Think I don't understand your suggestion, but here goes: There is the <exclusive_app> that can be set in the cc_config.xml to stop BOINC from resuming when you got your mediaplayer or any other *important* program loaded [WoW]. BOINC will remain idle until you unload those important programs.
