Re: Low Work for Help Conquer Cancer ( Nov 20, 2012 )

Things are looking good here. Several GPU units have already completed and have been returned.

Do you need us to test suspending and resuming?

no need to test suspending and resuming. The application was not changed. This problem was a supply of work units.

Thanks,

OK. Just thought I'd check.

I'll leave you to start a new thread if you think it's appropriate.

Re: Low Work for Help Conquer Cancer ( Nov 20, 2012 )

I have found a couple of the latest WUs 'stuck' on the second image with runtime of nearly 2 hours for the second part. SUSPEND and RESUME allowed them to complete in minutes, but once again means wasted time and resources.

I'm sure that if left alone, they would finally be classed as 'Computation errors' e.g. https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewpostinthread?post=401797

Win64, ATI 12.11b4, BM 7.0.36

It wouldn't be so bad if the time-out call didn't take so long.

Re: Low Work for Help Conquer Cancer ( Nov 20, 2012 )

I checked my computer today. I had 3 work units that used the GPU but 2 of them had computational errors. The one that did go to the end took 56 minutes to complete that is compared to the 20 minutes I was getting. I checked the stats today for HCC and found that there are still fewer results than there were before the GPU was being used. There are still times when they do not have any work units since I have checked only HCC work units but do allow others when they do not have any HCC units. I do have other work units on the computer. So we are difinitely doing the work units faster than they can generate new ones.
