boinc makes very addicted :D totally agree. And it is literally keeping my house warm, so I'm saving a fortune by having no heating on. People can't believe that I have no plans to have heating on this year until they come in and see how comfortable the house is. ![]() Crunching in memory of my Mum PEGGY, cousin ROPPA and Aunt AUDREY. |

We are going to start loading the new work into the grid now. Should be soon that work units are flowing. I guess my 8 hour estimate was a little bit wrong. :)
Thanks, -Uplinger |

And it is literally keeping my house warm, so I'm saving a fortune by having no heating on. People can't believe that I have no plans to have heating on this year until they come in and see how comfortable the house is. I'm very disappointed with Intel and AMD. {hikes pants up so he can use his belt buckle as a tie clip} Ya' see, time was, yur 'puters there would put out jiggle watts of heat and turn just about any room into a sauna. Nowadays, you need at 3 or 4 rigs or at least 2 dual socket servers to keep a decent size room comfy round these parts. Seriously though, with the every decreasing lithographic (???) nodes like 22nm, cpu's hardly produce any heat any more. I actually had to dig out the space heater early this year. It's just unseemly. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Yup the floodgates is a openin.
----------------------------------------Well done, Uplinger, the estimate was a bit out, but well done for keeping the suspense! twilyth, I watched a demo of a new Intel running without a fan. It reached 200C and then the **** hit the fan. Don't forget that we can now thank AMD for keeping us warm as well ![]() ![]() Crunching in memory of my Mum PEGGY, cousin ROPPA and Aunt AUDREY. |
