Dave Bell used to post a message that included 3 cups of coffee, a good morning team wish and then three more cups of coffee. After he passed, I sort of took up the practice as my way of remembering him. So that is where it came from. That said:
---------------------------------------- Good Monday Morning Team I had a power outage last night. Did not know it till a couple of hours ago and just now got all the crunchers back online. Everyone have a great day! (It is better than the alternative) |

Good Tuesday Morning Team I have had a comedy of errors on my computing rigs. I may have all the boilers stoked again now. I just used the word stoked and then looked it up as I remember a recent use of the word that made me question its definition. Funny how words I heard in my youth have changed meaning. I used it above in the old meaning as in the boilers have been fed enough coal or wood to keep them hot and producing steam. The march to complete obsolescence continues at a frightening pace; much to my chagrin. Still love the old Irish saying "Hooray Anyway!" Everyone have a great day. ![]() |

I may have all the boilers stoked again now. I liked the quote, I knew exactly what you meant. It brings to mind an incident I had before I retired. I used the expression "Hold your horses !" meaning to stop what ever it was the person was doing. The young lady in question gave me a quizzical look and asked what I meant. She had never heard the expression before. I could not believe it. I grew up in the city but this expression had been part of what I thought was common usage for virtually everyone. This happened with a few other expressions over time but this was the one which really hit me about generation gap issues. Cheers

I didn't know I would run into so many retirees when I joined MOT. And all with such a great sense of humor.
