I have two systems, one winxp and one win7, with BOINC installed on both. I have World Community Grid as a project (with seti@home and climateprediction.net) on the winxp, works fine. I have added climateprediciton to seti@home on the win7, but cannot add a project for World Community Grid. After entering my useremail and password for the project, the dialog returns that adding the project has failed. When I check the event log, it simply says "11/13/2012 11:47:45 PM | | Fetching configuration file from http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/get_project_config.php". I can't find enough info here to proceed with troubleshooting. Is this a common problem?

If I'm not remembering wrongly, for WCG, you need to enter your user NAME instead of your email address to login.

[IIRC ;] The sign-up/attach screen once selecting WCG from the join list actually changes to say something like [enter user/member name].
There are cases known where attaching fails even when membername/forum-password are used, but we'd like then to know if that was with entering the correct credentials. TTYL |
