step 2 is out the door. Let me know if you see anything strange. Thanks, -Uplinger Nothing strange! Noticed the cpu usage and checkpoint halfway. I suspended a task after the first checkpoint at 55% and I resumed it a bit later. It restarted as expected at 50%. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Crystal Pellet at Nov 8, 2012 11:18:49 PM] |

Ok, there is one more set of tests I need to run, and thus another 5 batches of multiple image files will be loaded up. So a lengthier beta than originally projected.
Thanks, -Uplinger |

Got 1 single image and then a burst of 7 of double image [the projected times are that]. Will we observe a 1 minute progress pause at about 49.9%, just as what we'd see at end but now at 99.9%, not 99.818? Of course, the packaging could also get combined at end and take double long. Picture the hovering hands over the panic button ;>) Off to bed... the client auto-started them in high priority. You should notice the pause at 49.9% (the end of the image) to have the pause and then again at the end of the second image. Thanks, -Uplinger |

Is it definite that clients using an app_info.xml file will be filtered-out of the HCC-GPUv7.05 beta-test? If so, filtered-out due to non-identical file-references in the app_info.xml file for the new version of the HCC-GPU-WU, or filtered-out due to a client's use of an app_info.xml file regardless of identical file-references? ; no conspiracy here. filtered-out due to non-identical file-references in app_info would be my guess. We did not do any filtering on our end. Thanks, -Uplinger |

Sorry about that. My bad...So, I just sent two done HCC-GPUv7.05-WU which completed twice my HD7770's norm at about 5minutes. ; |

Hmm, Err, couldn't they be parallel instead of serial?

no conspiracy here. filtered-out due to non-identical file-references in app_info would be my guess. We did not do any filtering on our end. It's supposed to be filtered-out and never assigned to users, but instead WCG will happily assign work for applications not specified in app_info.xml. On client, these will not be accepted, but no message is sent-back to server about this, so on next scheduler-request they're re-issued. And this continues in an infinite loop until the tasks either times-out or wu is finished so the task isn't needed any longer. 08-Nov-2012 22:31:04 [World Community Grid] [sched_op] Starting scheduler request 08-Nov-2012 22:31:04 [World Community Grid] Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. 08-Nov-2012 22:31:04 [World Community Grid] Requesting new tasks for ATI 08-Nov-2012 22:31:04 [World Community Grid] [sched_op] CPU work request: 0.00 seconds; I have no problems with resends as I only have my device profiles set to accept work that I have defined in my app_info.
----------------------------------------uplinger ... is it possible for WCG to run both versions (once the double ver is released) for a few days so we can straighten out our app_info files ... maybe if you could make the executables available for straight up download so we could fix things up on our ends quicker? If not, no big deal, just asking. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Nov 9, 2012 12:23:00 AM] |
