WCG and YouSendIt Express error

I run the WCG client on several PCs. One PC has Win7 Home Premium 64-bit and BOINC Manager 6.10.58; it runs WCG but no other projects.

From that PC, I send large files or folders using YouSendIt (YSI) Express. Sometimes after I send a large folder, all running WCG tasks fail with errors such as “Computation error” or “Output file ... absent”. If there are any tasks that are ready to start, they start and immediately fail. When I have lost all WCG tasks, I have to reboot.

When this happens, the YSI Express application may also show errors such as stopping a transmission with 0 seconds remaining. Sometimes Trend Micro antivirus software also stops running! Rarely, the Windows system tray goes blank, and all icons disappear.

A work-around is to close WCG whenever I send a folder using YSI Express. When YSI Express finishes sending, then I close YSI Express and restart WCG. That avoids WCG errors, but I lose hours of computing time.

I have upgraded to the latest version of YSI Express. I have posted this issue on the YSI forum but without resolution. This PC is generally stable and does not display other errors.

Any recommendations? Which flags would I add to the cc_config.xml file before sending a large folder? I do not like to leave flags in there all the time, because some flags can produce too many messages.

Thanks!

Re: WCG and YouSendIt Express error

I am guessing your system has become too busy to deal with both. Please post your error result log - </stderr_txt>, if any. It may provide a clue.
Cheers
