My HD 7570 is putting out valid results but the WUs are causing a noticeable lag with my computer. I tried disabling the use GPU while computer is in use, which fixes that problem, but there is no check pointing. So the WU has to start all over again. Any other solutions anyone knows about?

You should be able to right-click on the BOINC icon and select "Snooze GPU".

It's fetching work now. I'll keep an eye on it. my87csx481, My 5450 only returned Invalid results. I'm very interested if you have any better luck with yours.I checked on it last night, 1 valid work unit, and 12 or so invalids. Now it's up to 3 pages of invalids, and still just the one valid. Oh well. Time for another card. ![]() |

The gpu is stressed during crunching and one little problem can cause semi-permanent problems requiring a restart of the pc to reset it. One other thing if you are overclocking STOP, again crunching stresses the cpu AND gpu and if you are oc'ing a system that is 'on the edge' it will return nothing but errors. People oc'ing need to back off and re-evaluate their settings when using their gpu's to crunch with. ![]() ![]() |

What driver are you running? At first I had that on my gtx 460 as well, then I switched off hyperthreading (in the BIOS). That helped, but still many errors, then I updated nVidia driver to 306.97 (latest), and for the past two days everything cranks right along, no errors, all valid. About 6 minutes per work unit ( not great), but I'll double that shortly - I've ordered another 460 and will set up SLI.
----------------------------------------Good luck ![]() |

I have a gtx460 that has never had an invalid that I have noticed. I've been running 131.42 driver, 980x cpu, 6g ram, W7 64bit, with a GTX465 as well. lot of down-time on the GPU's but don't want to mess with the app_info.xml stuff as I have an AMD7870 on route fron NewEgg. Also am running several other WCG projects using total of only 10 cores (hyperthreading on).
Oddly enough my 465 does 3.5-4.2 mins ish and my 460 5.5-6.5 ish. |
