Thanks Lawrence and Ingleside.
Hmmm, I understood so little about the script that I think it would be a little too daunting for me to use at the moment. I would be afraid of screwing things up. |

The alternating global_prefs_override.xml scheduling script topic is not new. Previous samples/discussion and steps to set up were posted on the forums, but it requires some knowledge and studying the famous manuals to achieve what you want.
Generally, BOINC always backs away when you're using your system, so the question is, if you're using the system and let BOINC work in background, do you notice when testing with 50% 75% 100% of processors? I don't, unless running CEP2 because it has some heavy memory use and storage I/O. |

I always run at 100% processor power on my own computers.
However, I have a lot of friends and family who run WCG for me at home or at their business. If I can use this script, I can setup their computer to run better for their needs and get maximum WCG crunching for us. |

vcd683s,
This thread could help you along the way http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/...ead,28049_offset,0#287562 ... in there Ingleside also chimed in with some script sampling. E. Frijters did get it to work to his needs at the time ... 2 years ago. |
