kateiacy, can you tell us [sorry to ask again, if you told us before] if you're using the BOINC throttle [CPU time function], the classic cause of results hanging or TThrottle? Something to be positive on to know not to cause issue. No, I am not running any kind of CPU throttling software. I am running at 60% CPU usage set through preferences. Here's an update to my message of yesterday evening. After suspending all WUs (CPU and GPU) and resuming only a stuck beta, it ran through and uploaded. I resumed the next one and it processed fine. Then I resumed all WUs, and the next beta hung. So it was the same story I've seen twice before: two or three go through fine and then the next ones hang. I had to go to bed at that point, so suspended both betas I had in the cache to let all the cores run CPU WUs overnight. Will tackle betas again this evening. The two I have are repair jobs, and they show a shorter estimated run time, so they may be defective. |

kateiacy, that *is* the very BOINC throttle in form of 3 seconds running, 2 seconds pause which is causing some tasks/sciences to hang. In your finding, a sole running task doing fine, but more resulting in the hangs to reoccur. Think the techs had that type of observation in the past.

OK, I just set the computer to 100% CPU time and those last 2 betas finished and uploaded despite having 3 CPU tasks running at the same time. Off to work now. I couldn't resist trying this, so now I'm late! |
