I'm running HCC exclusively and those workunits in general are finished in under two hours on all my machines ranging from a Pentium E2200 to a Xeon W3550 with HT enabled. The quicker systems without HT (Core i5) are the quickest with running times of around 1,3 to 1,5 hours max.

If ever you need to find out the speeds of all the WU's use Seks special display..... http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q210/Sekerob/WCGProjectWorkUnitTime2.png This one shows it in words: http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q210/Sekerob/WCGDashboard.png 11th line up from the bottom is "hours/tasks all" which shows the average time to finish a task averaged over all the pc's running the projects. I LOVE SekeRob's charts!!! ps I have an AMD x6 and am finishing 6 tasks at a time in just under 1 and 1/2 hours each. I have Win7 64 bit Ultimate and ALSO have two gpu's crunching at the same for a different project. I have 16gb of ram in the machine. Although I am typing this on it it is essentially a Boinc only machine. ![]() ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by mikey159b at Sep 1, 2012 3:36:08 PM] |

Mikey, In addition to the Laptop, I have three I7-2600K machines with 16gb Ram in each, just about unlimited HDD and they run BOINC exclusively. Due to the "Warm" summer weather here in New England this year I had to throttle the CPU's back to 70% - starting to cool off now so I should be back to full-speed ahead. at one point I was finishing about 600-650 WU's everyday...happy crunching

----------------------------------------The right margin table of the chart Scribe refers to too ;>)... easy to remember the link, just WCGART (Average Run Time) and prefix that with the short http://bit.ly/ . I prefer members user these shorts aka tinyurls as they give me hit statistics... not hit statistics, no gauging if used or not... the motivational bit to keep them in production.
