Yes, that is one of the symptoms. BOINC is completely off-line i.e. not possible to register a new device / re-attach. Wait for news in this official thread: https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,33701

Servers are definitely persisting in a sick state of some sort... Just starting my last cached work units and all the others are piled up.

WCG is offline, not BOINC.
I'm communicating with other Projects just fine (WCG is a Project; CfSW, SN2S, GFAM, DSfL, et al are Applications or Tasks; what you download most often from Projects are Work Units). If you run out of Work Units here on WCG, you could always use Tools->Add Project (in Advanced View) or the Add Project button (in Simple View). There are nearly 4 dozen Projects besides World Community Grid. May I suggest Einstein@Home - http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/ Too bad there's been no new work from Orbit@Home for a while - that one searches for asteroids with paths that intersect Earth's orbit. (Won't do much good to cure diseases/cancers if Earth gets whacked by a 50km asteroid.) |

Well, now it is a new day and still no abilty to communicate to WCG.IT is not just that is has been 12 hours, a record in the three years I have been crunching, but also what it claims to me; viz., that I need to get a HTTP address....sigh...I doubt it is just the host now. Btw, how do I add the graphic which states my production at WCG? Thx :-)

And a shamefull plug ... this is Australia's first DC project and my team is quite excited. Get in on the ground floor. http://ec2-23-23-126-96.compute-1.amazonaws.com/pogs/ ![]() |

It is not a maintenance. It is (quite serious) technical problem. And the techs are working on it since early morning. Lets be patient all, I believe techs are doing great job and on the top of it they are finding time to inform us about progress (here https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,33701 ) :-)

Yeah, I saw that this morning too. After that I relaxed. I thought my new pc, which uses IE9, was doing something weird to the settings for the WCG. And very perplexing was the fact that my ISP could not give me the HTTP proxy settings to input those by hand (which I thought I need to do then to get back and running). Although I am happy my pc is not the issue, I am dismayed that this problem has surfaced. Well, I wil chill until they get it all fixed.
